Qailah Noorani is a fourth-year Gryffindor. She's very outgoing and friendly, until someone crosses her. She doesn't go looking for trouble, but she won't back down if trouble finds her. There is no filter between her mind and her mouth, and she never apologizes, so it's easy to imagine that she's pissed off a lot of her peers. Still, she's very honest and very protective of her own, especially her twin sister, Sumia, who is also a Gryffindor at Hogwarts (an NPC for the time being).

Personality: The younger of a set of twins, she has always been the baby. Thus, she isn't held accountable for her mistakes. At home she is accustomed to "getting away with murder," and so this attitude of hers has carried over into her school life. Often, she burns her bridges before she crosses them (oftentimes even before she builds them), and has no problem with stating her ideas and opinions without censoring herself (her name means "one who speaks"). She's intelligent and clever, earning pretty good grades almost effortlessly. She doesn't go looking for a fight, but if one comes her way she surely won't back down. She can be particularly defensive, especially of her more conservative and more "fuddy-duddy" sister, Sumia.

Strengths: Both magical and personality: Qailah has an innate ability to do well at school, and so barely has to study. Her honesty and expressive nature make her a natural communicator and, maybe someday, a good leader. She does well in subjects that require more wandwork than busywork.

Weaknesses: Both magical and personality: Her honesty and outspokenness might alienate a lot of her peers and teachers. She is also in need of an attitude adjustment, having been spoiled all her life. Qailah also won't back down in a fight or an argument, even when she knows that she's in the wrong (she could only wear one shoe, for how often her foot is in her mouth). She can be moody and bitchy and almost never apologizes. She doesn't listen to other people and hates getting advice, even when it's direly needed. She depends on her sister but never shows her appreciation.

History: Born in Birmingham, England, shortly after her family emigrated from Karachi, Pakistan. Both her parents worked while her father went to uni, and since he became a nurse the family has been doing quite well. Her two older brothers plan to pursue medical careers. The entire family was surprised when the letters came, inviting both sisters to attend Hogwarts. The family allowed them to go, because in fact they had noticed the girls' ability to perform magic (their eerie ability to cook with minimal effort just wasn't natural) and they preferred that they learn to control this ability before they pursued careers or marriages.
